This seven-module, architecturally designed amenities complex at Reflections Forster Beach has become something of a legend — proving that even an amenities block can be a destination in its own right.
Designed to surprise and delight, the building is widely known for being unexpectedly luxurious and quietly humorous, earning praise as everything from “the world’s best dunny” to “more day spa than toilet block.” The project was recognised with the NSW CCIA Innovation Gold Award, celebrating its innovation, design excellence and guest experience.
The amenities feature a biophilic design approach, bringing nature indoors through timber finishes, natural light, fresh air and calming textures. Guests are welcomed by nature-inspired music, a signature Reflections scent, indigenous artwork and imagery celebrating local landmarks — transforming what is typically a utilitarian space into a sensory experience.
Stylish cubicles, chic mirrors and high-end finishes elevate showers and toilets into something closer to a wellness retreat. The result is a modern, calming and memorable facility that consistently exceeds expectations.
While some long-time visitors fondly remember the old iconic “Opera House” amenities block, most agree the new design has become a standout feature of the park — talked about, photographed and remembered long after checkout.
